squirrel repellants

Hi fellow growers, pro and amateur.I recently had one of my corn stalks chewed by a squirrel. The stalk was about a half inch in diameter and about two months into the growing season. I nursed them against cut worms by placing plastic cups at the base. After they looked like they would be fine I was shocked to see the stalk gnarled and the plant left on th ground. I'm sure it's one of the many squirrels on my property because i chased one out of the garden yesterday. Is there a solution I can…See More

I don't know what you mean by "soil mixture." Are you talking about adding amendments? First, you need to get your soil tested for pH, nutrients, deficiencies etc. Then add whatever amendments the test data indicate. Your state extension agent will take care of this for you and tell you what you need to add, if anything.
